• A new package rnpn (v0.1.0) is on CRAN. rnpn is an R interface to USA National Phenology Network. For an introduction to the package see the README. Repository on GitHub.

• A new version (0.2.0) of brranching is on CRAN. See release notes for changes. A change of note is that we added a function phylomatic_local() to use Phylomatic locally. Repository on GitHub.

Use cases

Two recent papers cite rOpenSci software:

• Tennant et al. cite rplos (the Public Library of Science API R client) in their paper The academic, economic and societal impacts of Open Access: an evidence-based review ¹
• Froehlich et al. cite and use rfishbase (the Fishbase.org R client) in their paper Synthesis and comparative analysis of physiological tolerance and life-history growth traits of marine aquaculture species ²
