Software

• A new package (version 0.1.0) traits is on CRAN. traits is an R client to obtain species trait data from many different sources, including sequence data from NCBI, plant trait data from BETYdb, invasive species data from the Global Invasive Species Database and EOL, Traitbank data from EOL, Coral traits data, nativity status from Flora Europaea or ITIS, and bird data from Birdlife International. See the vignette for an introduction to the package. Repository on GitHub.
• A new version (0.6.0) of taxize is on CRAN. See the release notes for changes.
• A new version (0.3.7) of rfigshare is on CRAN.
• A new version (0.4.0) of rnoaa is on CRAN. See the release notes for changes. Of note: NOAA GHCN Daily data is now available in rnoaa, and NOAA buoy data is available in rnoaa (was previously on a development git branch, but is now available in the CRAN version).
• A new version (0.1.4) of rAvis is on CRAN.
